The Squaxin Island Tribe
The Squaxin Island Tribe are descendants of the maritime people who lived and prospered along the shores of the southernmost inlets of the Salish Sea for untold centuries.
We envision a culturally and economically strong community of self-governing, resilient people united by shared values and traditions.
The Squaxin Island Tribe broke ground for Native Sun Grown in March of 2017, the first tribal owned cannabis farm in Washington State. NSG is a full term outdoor farm consisting of 5+ acres of production area situated on the Olympic Peninsula northwest of Olympia, Washington. The Squaxin Tribe has a long and storied history of farming the tidelands of South Puget Sound and now, with the addition of upland farming, the Squaxin Tribe has added a new chapter to the story.
Native Sun Grown is surrounded by water to the north, south and east. The combination of salty sea air, light constant breeze, and sandy loam soil provides ideal growing conditions and unmatched terroir. Each spring fields are amended with a special blend of organic fertilizers and our starts are lovingly planted by hand. Throughout the season we use traditional farming practices and a custom, all natural and organic fertilizer program to bring out the best in our strains. Just before harvest, cool fall rains flush out the fields leading to superb flavors and a smooth clean smoke.

Island Enterprises Inc. has acquired Harmony Farms, bringing the longtime cannabis producer and processor into the Tribe’s portfolio alongside Native Sun Grown and Elevation. The acquisition strengthens the Tribe’s cannabis operations across cultivation, processing, and retail in Washington.
Native Sun Grown Expands Cultivation with New Five-Acre Field
Native Sun Grown has added a new five-acre field at its farm in Kamilche, Washington. The expansion increases cultivation capacity and supports future product development for Squaxin-owned cannabis brands and retail partnerships across Washington State.
